How to Use Micro Skills As a Leader
Micro skills are typical in a leadership role, and these skills refer to specific talents used by leaders to motivate their team and accomplish a specific task. Every team needs a leader. This is the principal person that takes charge of a group or organization. Being familiar with various micro skills specific to this role can help leaders perform well.

1.
Develop a strategy and communicate this strategy to your team. Visualize solutions to problems or brainstorm resolutions before speaking with your team. Improve your verbal or communication skills to effectively convey solutions to their team. Speak clearly and think before you speak.
-
2.
Be persuasive. The ability to provide sound reasoning and convincing others to agree with a certain viewpoint is key of effective leaders. Be ready to communicate why you feel a certain way and provide your team with compelling evidence that supports your viewpoint or argument.
-
3.
Show that you're a team player. An effective leader has the ability to work well with his team. Although you might be the final decision maker, listen to your team's views, and be willing to adapt to or accommodate their ideas or opinions.
-
4.
Encourage good relationships amongst team members. Dissension or conflict within a group can impact productivity. Urge team players to resolve conflicts and function as a mediator, if necessary.
-
5.
Instruct your team and encourage improvement. Leaders typically have more experience then their team members. Observe your team and make recommendations as needed. Provide one-on-one assistance and be available to answer questions.
