How to Convert Boardmaker to PDF

Whether you own a tutoring or a speech pathology practice, Boardmaker can help you create curriculum for clients who have special learning needs. However, the program saves each project you create in a specific file format, such as BM2, which cannot be opened on a computer that doesn’t have the design software installed. To view the Boardmaker files on a different computer or share them with coworkers and clients, convert them to the PDF format by installing a third-party virtual PDF printer.

  1. 1.

Download and install a free PDF printer, such as Bullzip PDF Printer, PrimoPDF or PDFlite (links in Resources).

  2. 2.

Launch Boardmaker, and then open the project you want to convert to PDF format.

  3. 3.

Click the “File" menu and select “Print Project” to open a Print dialog box.

  4. 4.

Click the “Printer” drop-down menu and select the virtual printer you installed.

  5. 5.

Click the “Print” button. The virtual printer software opens.

  6. 6.

Enter a file name for the Boardmaker project and select a destination folder for the converted file. Click “OK” to save the Boardmaker file as a PDF.
